Experience Design

“All the World’s a Stage”

Major destinations from Disneyland to malls and department stores are deeply intent on employing data to enable the seamless provision of a broad range of ‘smart’ services to their customers.  The service strategy is called “experiential marketing” and the emerging art-science-technology discipline is “experience design”.

Citizens aren’t customers, but there’s no reason they shouldn’t expect continuous enhancement of their urban experience.  Some obvious starting points concern accessibility: using data and analytics to convene existing resources to accelerate the success of specific groups and communities.

Urban Opus offers a neutral innovation ground, together with its data hub, for organizations as diverse as transit, utilities, municipal operations, community groups, corporations and individual citizens to collaboratively design and implement the future for all of us.
