Inspiring Better City Self-Awareness
Leading global cities are exceedingly complex entities, so the most valuable role for urban data analysis is to amplify important signals in the noise: to help Metro Vancouver become more self-aware.
Urban Opus is founded on the belief that a “smart city” is one where all of its citizens are engaged in creating and consuming data about themselves – that people collectively are the primary engine of intelligence. That’s why Urban Opus is dedicated to supplementing open data sources with as many forms of voluntary “citizen data” (participatory sensing, crowdsourcing, etc) as possible.
